Most of this job was joinery. The doors were taken back to bare timber, masked, primed and brought up to a flat, even finish — the slow part of any apartment repaint, and the part that shows every shortcut.
Around them the kitchen and its appliances were sheeted before a brush was lifted. Doors are the one surface in a home that everybody touches, so they are worth the extra day they cost.
