The arched veranda here was stripped back before it was made good — the floor in the before photo shows exactly what came off, sheet after sheet of failed paint.
Once the arch and soffit had been re-skimmed and floated flat, the whole run went back to white, with the wrought-iron grille and gate worked around in place. The curve is what makes it: an arch shows every ripple the moment light rakes across it.
