At 367 Tampines Street 34 the whole home was given over to a warm greige lime wash, and the point of a finish like this is that it never sits still. Look along any wall and the colour drifts — darker plumes gathering low, paler blooms opening up where the light lands. It is soft-edged and cloudy in a way no flat emulsion can imitate, and it changes through the day as the light moves across it.
What makes this one hold together is that the finish was carried everywhere rather than stopped at the easy edges. It runs up onto the ceilings and across the beams, wraps continuously around the formed arches in the corner room and the kitchen without a seam at the reveal, rides over the panel mouldings in the living room, and carries across the built-in joinery so the cabinetry reads as wall rather than furniture. Against the existing terracotta floors, the effect is one warm, unbroken envelope.
